asking what life’s purpose is similar to asking who God is or what love is. It is not always easy to answer but each person must come to their own definition. So, what is life’s purpose? Personally, I have two answers. First, be of service to others. In order for your souls advancement, you must step outside of ‘you’ and do good for others-people, animals, environment, ect…Yes, there is sacrifice involved-no question about that. By focusing off of you and onto someone else is spiritual maturity. I’m in a service related business where I constantly give out. Even on bad days, personal sadness, not feeling well, ect…I still have to step outside myself, for that is what is needed to tend to the heart of others.
Second, if I tell my clients one thing it is be true to yourself. No matter what anybody thinks or feels about you or your life you must follow the path laid out for you alone. This does not mean that you should close off advice or suggestions that the people who care for you have. It does mean that at the end of the day, your choices are between you and God to figure out. This can be extremely challenging at times, given that we are not meant to live on an island alone, that we must interact with others. There will be times when you disappoint another, or you may feel selfish or guilty for doing what is best for you, but here in lies the true test of following your true north and being led by something higher than yourself. So, what is life’s purpose? Take a few moments to answer these things for you and you alone.
Blessings,
